My latest discovery is Ethos Water. I came across this organization & water while at Starbucks with our oldest daughter. Every time you buy a bottle of this water Ethos Water promises to donate five cents from every bottle sold to help children get clean water especially in places like Ethiopia, Honduras, & India.

Ethos is also a proud participant of World Water Day. World Water day is an international day of observance and action to draw attention to the plight of the more than 1 billion people world wide that lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Celebrated since 1993, World Water Day was designated in 1992 when the United Nations (UN) General Assembly passed a resolution. With each passing year, the observance has grown larger and stronger. The UNHCR is dedicated, since 1950, to helping refugees all over the world restart their lives. The primary purpose of the UNHCR is to safeguard the rights and well-being of refugees. It strives to ensure that everyone can exercise the right to seek asylum and find safe refuge in another State, with the option to return home voluntarily, integrate locally or to resettle in a third country. It is estimate that the UNHCR has helped 50 million people restart their lives.

Since 2001 award winning actress Angelina Jolie has been the UNHCR's Goodwill ambassador. She continues to travel the world giving her hands on help and donations (at least half the amount she makes from every movie) to helping refugees worldwide.

She has also published a book about her experiences titled Notes From My Travels. It documents her journeys, these people's lives, as well as how they continue to strive everyday with strength and hope for their future.

Dawn's save-a-duck program is pretty simple. Everytime you by any Dawn dishwash soup a portion of that money is going towards keeping our animals alive such as ducks and seals that have been covered in oil. Dawn is helping to preserve their lives.

From the shores of Alaska to the Galapagos Islands, wildlife rescuers have used Dawn dishwashing liquid to gently clean aquatic birds such as ducks, pelicans, gulls, and egrets. Animal rescue groups have chosen Dawn for more than two decades because it's effective at removing oil while being gentle on the birds' delicate feathers and skin.

Each year, bird rescue professionals such as the International Bird Rescue Research Center and Tri-State Bird Rescue & Research, with the help of Dawn, save the lives of thousands of aquatic birds. Through three decades of experience, and a bit of trial and error, the success rate for rehabilitating oil-soaked birds has jumped from a mere three percent up to 90 percent, depending on the type of spill. Dawn is proud to support these efforts.

Our quest to help wildlife by donating Dawn began with the International Bird Rescue Research Center in 1978, the first group to test Dawn in cleaning oiled wildlife. The group found that we met its criteria: removing most oils at low concentrations, being non-irritating to the feathers, skin, and eyes, rinsing easily and quickly from feathers, and being easily accessible. Since 1979, the International Bird Rescue Research Center has used Dawn on all U.S. oil spills and beyond (where available or when shipped by Dawn to the site).

There's been an enormous reduction in major oil spills such as the Exxon Valdez; now, it is more likely that birds and wildlife will be affected by smaller oil spills. Each day they encounter oil runoff from our lawn mowers and boats, and oil-soaked streets from cars and trucks.
