I Meant...

I meant that soft press against your lips
Like savoring the beauty of a barely dying flower
between the pages of a book
I can still see their outline
As your eyes gave me that curious look

When i caressed my hands across your torso
I meant to melt my body against yours
Like candle wax dripping into a new mold
Where new creases would take hold

I meant to stand too close to you
with your body hovering over my eyes
To take in your body's scent
to let it linger and hypnotize

Dangerous
like sticking your nose
in a tulip
to capture the flora aroma
for a bee might arise
And sting these elated sky blue eyes

However,
i didn't meant to fall to the f loor
in your lap
But i did mean to linger there a little too long...
To taste the tension between the air we share
to let inquisitive minds run bare

I certainly didn't plan to do a double take
when you walked in late
attired in blue jeans
but i couldn't help the images my mind would make
you lit a fire under my skirt
like lightning shaking the dirt

You were a bridge
not meant to be crossed
for those with no bungee cord
or swimming ability
I knew the consquences
the moment my knees shook me unsteady
and my heart soared with a drowning sensation

I had no intensions of getting consumed in you
But the look you glance upon me
before 'bye' escapes your lips
pulls me across the floor
and grabs me tight by the hips
its like the constiency and hold of glue

I didnt think i could be
afraid of another's touch
till your fingers grazed mine
i jumped back just in time
before images of you taking over my body
got to be too much

Yes, i meant to linger you here
but this was a bridge i was to be able to cross
the only options not being to either
swim or sink
Yet here I stand on the brink
of the broken bridge
one step away too many from the next board link.
